We are looking for a discreet, hardworking, proactive, adaptable and trustworthy live in nanny and housekeeper for a young family of three with a newborn.
You’ll be expected to be my right arm in all regarding the house and family, you’ll manage all aspects of the housekeeping and cooking of light family meals., always maintaining high standards and attention to details. You’ll have your own large bedroom with wardrobe and en suite bathroom.
Overall tasks are general cleaning (meaning detailed dusting, hovering, tidying and keeping everything new, keep fridge and freezer clean), organising, laundry (in home washing and care of fine fabric, hand washing all necessary, also separate and deal with what needs to go to the laundry, organising for pick up, delivery, checking quality of service done and dealing with any problems), ironing, starching and steaming, sewing eventual buttons that pop out, undoing travel luggage and organizing what needs ironing, what needs washing, managing the wardrobes, watering plants when required, preparing light meals if requested, grocery shopping at the supermarket/open market and also online.
You’ll be also asked to look after our little girl when mum will be out, and you will be requested once a week to look after her in the evening.
Paramount to us is to find someone trustworthy that we can take with us while travelling for periods that vary from one week to six weeks.
Please note these are the main responsibilities, but duties will not be limited to them, as the person is expected to help the family with any other reasonable requests or duties, and supervise outside trades people when required.
The successful candidate will have experience in a similar role and be able to work independently. Although the main tasks described are within household and babysitting, the aim is to look after the family proactively. We are looking for a long term partnership and want someone that not only does the work with perfection, but is happy in doing so, is proud of it and wants to do it in the long term.
Where: Ascot, Berkshire, Home Counties
Language: Fluent English is required
Typical Hours: Monday to Friday 07h00-21h30, including a 3h break after our lunch (flexibility is required to work occasionally on Saturdays or Sundays to be paid on top of normal wage
Candidates must be / have:
– Driving licence and experience in driving in the UK, but not essential
– Knowledge of specialist cleaning and care of all delicate fabrics, as well as ability to hand wash delicate items like silk and cashmere
– Good Cooking skills, and willingness to learn new things;
– Proof of right to work in the UK;
– Up to date Enhanced CRB;
– Positive ‘can-do’ attitude and a genuine willingness to work for the family long term;
– Organised, trustworthy, proactive, perfectionist;
– Well-presented (person will be expected to wear uniform), high spirit, high energy, friendly and professional.
